  • Paperbark Camp
You might think the term "luxury camping" is an oxymoron, but after one night in the <a href="http://www.paperbarkcamp.com.au/">Paperbark Camp</a>'s heavenly tent hideaways, we think you'll have a change of heart. Located on the unspoilt coast of New South Wales in Australia, the camp's twelve safari style tents sit nestled in a grove of eucalyptus and paperbark trees. Each canvas-covered tent is elevated above the ground to protect the land underneath and features a large wraparound verandah, solar powered lighting and all of the posh hotel amenities you could ask for.

Guests at <a href="http://www.paperbarkcamp.com.au/">Paperbark</a> can choose between original safari tents, which have verandahs and indoor/outdoor private ensuites attached or deluxe safari tents with large verandahs, indoor/outdoor private ensuites and free standing baths.

The resort is a car-free zone but that's no problem since guests have access to canoes, kayaks and bicycles free of charge.

After a day of exploring the gum and mangrove forests (which are apparently a great place to spot kangaroos!), you can head to the Gunyah, a tree top dining room, you can retreat to your cozy canvas suite and take a long, hot bath or hit the downy cotton sheets and be lulled to sleep by the soothing sounds of the bush.

Other eco-amenities include solar powered electric 12 volt lighting, natural ventilation, low-flow showerheads, dual-flush toilets, hot water that is heated on demand only using gas, light sensitive timer switches for public lighting, use of compact fluorescent bulbs and revegetation of the areas affected by the development.

One of the creatures you might encounter on a nightly nature walk!
