We've seen green vacation spots where guests can stay in <a href="http://inhabitat.com/old-mac-daddy-a-luxury-trailer-park-filled-with-vintage-airstream-trailers-in-south-africa/">revamped vintage trailers</a>, eco <a href="http://inhabitat.com/kyu-che-lifepod-yurt-of-the-future/">yurts</a> or sustainable teepees - but not many places can boast all three. <a href="http://www.elcosmico.com/">El Cosmico</a> can. The unique lodging concept by Liz Lambert is as out there as its name implies - and we mean that in the best way possible. The sustainable campground/resort sits on an 18 acre plot in Marfa, Texas and is "part vintage trailer, yurt, teepee hotel and campground, part creative lab, greenhouse and amphitheatre." So if you're looking to vacation off the beaten path - and we mean way off - mosey on down to El Cosmico.

Sustainability and community were two of the main goals of the project and as such, the resort features green equipment.
    2

Ms. Lambert collaborated with architectural firm <a href="http://www.lakeflato.com/">Lake/Flato</a>, Jack Sanders of <a href="http://designbuildadventure.com/">Design Build Adventure</a>, and a team of artists, builders and students to create the sustainable adventure site that is El Cosmico.

Some of the green features are solar heating tanks (to warm water for the showers and baths), wind turbines and solar panels.
    4
  • El Cosmico
In addition to renewable energy, <a href="http://www.elcosmico.com/">El Cosmico</a>'s accommodations are sustainable themselves.
    5
  • El Cosmico
The trailer suites have been renovated from old vintage trailers and have their own stoves, fridges and hot water.
    6
  • El Cosmico
The reinvented yurt structures (called eco shacks) have bamboo floors and weatherproof fabric walls.
    7
  • El Cosmico
And if you want to get even closer to the land, you can choose to stay in a traditional 22 ft. diameter Sioux teepee or even a plain tent.

Each trailer has its own stove so you can cook for yourself.

When you're not hanging out in your trailer, yurt, teepee or<a href="http://inhabitat.com/paperbark-camp-luxurious-eco-tents-nestled-in-the-australian-bush/"> tent</a>, there are a number of cool communal spaces to check out in El Cosmico as well.

  • El Cosmico
Relax in an elm grove swinging with hammocks, the community lounge and mercantile, which is an <a href="http://inhabitat.com/electroluxs-outdoor-kitchen-integrates-with-your-garden/">outdoor kitchen</a> and dining space or take a dip in the wood fired Dutch hot tubs.
    12
  • El Cosmico
A little taste of vintage Americana.
    13

In the future, guests will be able to enjoy a large pool and pavilion as well.
