    Seoul-based <a title="The Great Wall Apartment-Factory and Retail Building In China Is Designed For Life, Work and Play" href="http://www.ykhlab.com/index.html" target="_blank">Yamasaki Ku Hong Associates Design Lab</a> is building a set of <a title="The Great Wall Apartment-Factory and Retail Building In China Is Designed For Life, Work and Play" href="http://inhabitat.com/bungalove-nomadic-pop-up-prefab-lets-you-go-back-to-the-wild-in-style/" target="_blank">small-sized apartments </a>that will mix ‘life, work and play’ all in one space. Dubbed 'The Great Wall', this apartment-factory and commercial-retail building will bring the citizens of Suizhong an answer to the lack of green space in their lives. Located in the Liaoning Digital Technology Industrial District, the architects are trying to develop the next generation of ‘apartment-factories’ that will highlight ecological, economic and social matters in their program.

    Since The Great Wall apartment-factories are located near the eastern end of the monumental Great Wall of China, the architects based its shape to resemble Hakka Houses, with a green courtyard at the core, surrounded by an enclosed shopping and living building.
