Net Zero Savannah iHouse Opens For Tours At Green Bridge Farm

    The lucky owner of this sweet new <a href="http://claytonihouse.com/index.cfm" target="_blank">iHouse by Clayton Homes</a> is set up for practically <a href="http://inhabitat.com/category/zero-energy">zero utility bills</a>. Located in the Green Bridge Farm outside of Savannah, Georgia, the 1 bedroom iHouse was just completed and is already generating power from its rooftop solar system. Soon a <a href="http://inhabitat.com/tag/wind-turbine">wind turbine</a> will be installed to round out its renewable energy sources. If you happen to be in the area this weekend, the <a href="http://claytonihouse.com/index.cfm" target="_blank">home is open for tours</a> so you can check out the prefab home, the Chevy Volt and the organic farm located in the eco conscious development.

    These homes are all prefabricated and come with bamboo floors, Energy Star appliances, no VOC pain, CFL lighting, water saving fixtures, low e energy efficient windows, and composite decking from renewable sources.

    A geothermal heat pump provides energy efficient heating and cooling, while a solar system on the roof generates electricity for the home.
