    The second edition of the fantastic <a title="Recycled Shipping Containers Make a Fantastic Info Point at Copenhagen Design Week’s Harbor" href="http://www.copenhagendesignweek.com/" target="_blank">Copenhagen Design Week</a> just kicked off, and Inhabitat is on the scene capturing all bustling events going down in Danish capital. An initiative of the <a title="Recycled Shipping Containers Make a Fantastic Info Point at Copenhagen Design Week’s Harbor" href="http://www.oem.dk/" target="_blank">Danish Ministry of Economic and Business Affairs</a>, and directed by the <a title="Recycled Shipping Containers Make a Fantastic Info Point at Copenhagen Design Week’s Harbor" href="http://www.ddc.dk/" target="_blank">Danish Design Centre</a>, the week is all about <a title="Recycled Shipping Containers Make a Fantastic Info Point at Copenhagen Design Week’s Harbor" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Design_thinking" target="_blank">design thinking</a>, <a title="Recycled Shipping Containers Make a Fantastic Info Point at Copenhagen Design Week’s Harbor" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User-centered_design" target="_blank">user-centered design, </a>and sustainability. The biennale, that first saw light in 2009, is curated by architects Tina Midtgaard and Karen Kjaergaardmakes under the ‘Think Human’ concept. This year's fair features lots of exhibits, international conferences, street installations, workshops, awards and open showrooms all throughout the city. But for any good design week hunter, the natural starting point is of course the Information Point! Located right by the incredible Copenhagen Kvæsthusmolen Harbor, the stacked structure has been built from one of our favorite building materials: <a title="Recycled Shipping Containers Make a Fantastic Info Point at Copenhagen Design Week’s Harbor" href="http://inhabitat.com/index.php?s=Shipping+Containers" target="_blank">recycled shipping containers</a>!

    Made from locally sourced, recycled shipping containers, the Information Point at Kvæsthusmolen is the perfect place to find out how to get around the Copenhagen Design Week.

    As well as maps, catalogs and cool reusable unbleached cotton bags, the temporary structure also shelters some small but powerful exhibitions inside.

    With walls made from recycled chipboard, fiberglass floors and other natural materials throughout, the containers are a strong durable structure for the Information Point.

    Danish-born designer Mathias Bengtsson created Paper Chair, a sculptural organic seat made from thousands of biodegradable black and white paper. The chair has no frame, joints or screws.

    Students at the Kolding School of Design ‘attacked’ Arne Jacobsen’s classic ‘7’ chair to make a collection called Design Parasites that re-designs the famous Danish icon for good quality design.

    One Chair a Week is a project by the School of Architecture, were students were introduced to a new material each week and where given that time to design and build their own seat.

    Outside the pilled up containers, there is a facility to rent a bike, the perfect sustainable transport to get around, and a favorite of the Danes.
