Former Wharf Building Converted for Tom Dixon’s Pop-Up Shop at London Design Festival

    For the launch of the <a href="https://www.tomdixon.net">Tom Dixon</a> shop at <a href="http://inhabitat.com/london-design-week/">London Design Festival</a>, the old wharf building of <a href="http://www.tomdixon.net/projects/the-dock">Portobello Dock</a> has been converted into an elaborate design platform for Dixon's new designs. On one side of the old dock building lies a canal, while another disappears beneath it, giving the pop-up shop the appearance of an island in London's vibrant west district. Providing a creative space for international designers, Tom Dixon’s dock welcomes all sorts of innovative pieces into the shop.

    The long building maintains its original features in traditional brickwork and exposed beams.

    The renovated wharf building is constructed right into the canal-side with boats floating in its garden of water.

    During the week long festival the dock will feature pieces of furniture and design in its range of show-rooms.

    Complete with a restaurant and outdoor terrace, the Dock also has a little garden area of featuring a few home-grown tomatoes, just to add to the wholesome feel of canal-side dining!
