In the series 'Destroyed Houses' the Dutch artist masterfully manipulates space and materials to create stunningly beautiful sculptures from scenes of destruction and neglect.

As opposed to excavating the sites, Teeumen fills them with carefully-stacked pieces of debris.

This technique has resurfaced in her work since 2005.
