Foster Loop Cabin by Balance AssociatesWhen Balance Architects was commissioned to build an airy cabin on a former campground in Washington State, their main task was to make sure that it had virtually no environmental impact. So they lifted the 1.5 story cabin off the ground, stacked it on a few small concrete pillars, and gave it a forest catwalk that allows residents to easily walk from their hideaway amidst towering pine trees, across a valley to a clearing in the woods.1
