Stairway Cinema by OH.NO.SUMO, photo credit Simon DevittExperimental architecture studio <a href="http://ohnosumo.com/" target="_blank">OH.NO.SUMO</a> has made this cool <a href="http://ohnosumo.com/tagged/Stairway-Cinema" target="_blank">cinema</a> in the most unlikely of places -- a stairwell! Public spaces like stairwells and bus stops -- sites where people generally have to spend a long time waiting -- now have the opportunity to be transformed into social areas for interaction and entertainment. With the aim of stopping people from retreating into the individual world of a cell-phone, OH.NO.SUMO decided create pop-up spaces able to screen short movies for all the world (or at least local passers-by) to see.1
