Villages Nature is a Utopian Eco Resort Planned Near Disneyland Paris

<a href="http://www.villagesnature.com/" target="_blank">Les Villages Nature</a> is a planned eco resort to the east of Paris set to be the premier family eco destination in all of Europe. Developed in part by Euro Disney and only 6 km from <a href="http://www.disneylandparis.com/" target="_blank">Disneyland Paris</a>, Villages Nature wants to offer visitors the pleasure of living in harmony with nature. The project is still in planning stages, but already they have designed 16 acres dedicated to eco adventure geared towards families that will include an interactive farm, geothermal heated water park, an island of adventure and kilometers of hiking, biking and equestrian trails. Sustainability is high on the list of priorities and the Disney developers want to make sure the resort is carbon neutral and produces zero waste.

Just 32 km east of Paris is the 160,000 m2 site slated for <a href="http://www.villagesnature.com/" target="_blank">Les Villages Nature de Val d’Europe</a>, which will be an eco resort destination for families.

Developed by <a href="http://www.disneylandparis.com/" target="_blank">Euro Disney</a> and <a href="http://www.groupepvcp.com/" target="_blank">Pierre &amp; Vacances Center Parcs</a>, the project aims to offer a place for families to go and experience nature. I

In addition the developers want to minimize their environmental footprint as much as possible.

Their goal is to create a resort based around 10 eco principles, which includes: carbon neutral; zero waste; use of local materials; production of local and organic food; sustainable use of water; protects natural habitats and wildlife; fosters culture and heritage; promotes equitable economic development; and promotes the quality of life.

Villages Nature will include 30,000 m2 of built areas with a variety of accommodations available like condos, small detached homes and hotels.

The rest of the site will be devoted to recreation and leisure, most notably will be the Aqualagon, a the largest water park in Europe heated by geothermal power.

Surrounding sustainable gardens will evoke the four elements of nature (water, air, earth and fire) and there will also be an Adventure Island for play, an interactive farm to teach about sustainable food and many forest trails for hiking, cycling or pony.

The developers hope to open Villages Nature to the public by 2015 with Phase 1 beginning soon.
