TT Architects Transform a Former Coffee-Roasting House in Japan into a Creative Office

This light-flooded office is a stunning <a href="http://inhabitat.com/tag/green-renovation/" target="_blank">green renovation</a> from Japanese studio <a href="http://ttarchi.com/" target="_blank">TT Architects</a>, who transformed the site from a coffee-roasting warehouse into a creative space. Dubbed Kawanishi Fam, the flexible and collaborative workspace has been divided into individual and shared areas for work and meetings, using a glazed screen and wood to form an unusual layout. The restoration was organized by entrepreneurs who wanted to create a dynamic work environment where they would be able to exchange ideas and create.

The former coffee-roasting building in Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture, has been entirely remodeled within the original shell of the structure.

With a variety of spaces such as individual desks and open meeting areas, the existing long space of Kawanishi Fam has been converted into a more adaptable and accessible layout.

The minimal style of the space creates an inspiring atmosphere, where light can flood in from different directions.

It is spacious and modern, incorporating an angled ceiling and a high side light to bring in more light.

At the far end of the room a wooden wall has been built to house a utility area and toilet.

This gives the appearance of a little hut, concealing the area.
