She usually finds inspiration in nature, like she did with her vulnerable yet powerful “Butterfly” collection.

For her latest work, she was inspired by the drawing on a book by German biologist and philosopher Ernst Haeckel -- “Kunstformen der Natur” – released back in 1904!

Haeckel’s book is full of all sorts of detailed drawing of organisms from the natural world, including plants, birds and sea creatures.

The designs are characterised by a strong symmetry and attention to detail, which can also be seen in Artzen’s brilliant designs.

This petrol-based material also gives off a softly glow that helps creating a whimsical atmosphere in the room making the organisms stand out and “float”.

Thoughtfully conceived, these lamps are light and flat-pack, which makes it easier to ship minimizing environmental impact.
