Katho Catholic Academy appears to be on a mission to make education fun, ecological and private with their intriguing modular student housing experiment. Each bedroom and toilet unit plugs in to a central terminal, where the kitchen, living room and bathroom functions are held, via a yellow accordion-esqe connector.
Designed to give students separate work space so they can study in private, each unit has a different design. One of them is covered in plants, which provide insulation and a seriously green aesthetic, another is covered in solar panels and even boasts a small wind turbine on the roof, while another has a skate platform! HUB 01 was unveiled at the recent Biennial “Interieur.”
