Amazing Tetra Brik Pavilion Made with 45,000 Milk Cartons Wins Guinness World Record

Using 45,000 milk cartons as pseudo LEGO bricks, <a href="http://cuacs.com/index.php?/arquitectura/2011pabellon-de-briks/">CUACS Arquitectura</a> built this extraordinary pavilion in Spain to honor <a href="http://www.facebook.com/worldrecyclingday">World Recycling Day.</a> In 2011, the Government of Granada worked with the waste recycling company RESUR to commission the project, which used recycled tetra briks taken from more than 100 colleges throughout the Spanish province. Once completed, it became the world's largest major construction built from <a href="http://inhabitat.com/tag/recycled-materials/">recycled materials</a>, thereby winning the Guinness World record in that category.

This amazing maze-like structure is made of milk cartons - 45,000 of them.

Constructed to highlight World Recycling Day in 2011, the tetra brik pavilion won the Guinness World Record for major construction made with recycled materials

The cartons were connected with clamps at an angle of 135 degrees

When completed, it was 30 meters long, 15 meters wide and 7 meters high

After two weeks of being on display, the pavilion was completely recycled!
