Tred Avon River House by Robert M GurneyThis gorgeous glass-wrapped home is Robert M Gurney Architect's latest masterpiece on Maryland's eastern shore. Easton is an agrarian region surrounded by a lot of water (including the adjacent Tred Avon River for which the home is named). The site is subject to flooding, which led Gurney to lift the triple-volume home four feet off the ground, making it appear to float above the landscape. Built to maximize its connection to the surrounding nature, the home also boasts a series of subtle interventions that soften its environmental footprint.1
