Exquisite Stacked Lights Are Made From Repurposed Vintage Glassware and Tinted Resin

    <a title="Stacked Lights: Unique Exquisite Luminaires Made From Vintage Glassware" href="http://inhabitat.com/design-academy-of-eindhoven-students-show-off-their-newly-minted-chops-at-their-masters-graduation-show/" target="_blank">Design Academy of Eindhoven</a> graduates <a title="Stacked Lights: Unique Exquisite Luminaires Made From Vintage Glassware" href="http://www.sanvans.com/site/" target="_blank">Sander Wassink</a> and <a title="Stacked Lights: Unique Exquisite Luminaires Made From Vintage Glassware" href="http://maayanpesach.tumblr.com/" target="_blank">Ma'ayan Pesach</a> have created an exquisite series of hanging lamps by reappropriating unwanted glassware. Their brilliant Stacked Lights are made from vintage plates, bowls, cups and vases found in various markets in the Netherlands. LED lights shine through the stacks, casting colored shadows on nearby surfaces.

    To make their glazed lights the designers started by collecting all kinds of glassware from markets and second-hand shops in and around Eindhoven.

    Plates, cups, bowls, jars and vases, they are all part of Wassink and Pesach beautiful light fittings.

    Once they had a good amount of pieces, with different shapes, styles, details and qualities, they went on stacking them together until they got their desired configuration.

    But they soon realized that the lights where more interesting if they could ad some color to them.

    So they used pigmented resin that as well as holding the glassware together and some magical tint when the LED source above shines through it.

    They used elegant thin copper wires to connect the glass shades to the lamp housing, with a result that is both unique and wonderful.

    The Stacked Lights where exhibited at Spazio Rossana Orlandi during this year's Milan design week.
