Off-the-grid truck house transforms into a spectacular fantasy castle

This zany <a href="http://inhabitat.com/tag/off-the-grid/" target="_blank">off-the-grid</a> home would look like an ordinary truck house if it weren't for the two turrets on the back. These can be rotated inwards for travel mode, but when parked, the <a href="http://inhabitat.com/tag/mobile-truck-house/" target="_blank">truck house</a> transforms into a tiny fantasy castle. The owners built it as a solar-powered compact home that can harvest rainwater on the go, and while it is definitely quirky, we also think it's kind of awesome.

The family of three decided to build a home which would suit their active lifestyle and allow them to travel without having to compromise on quality of life.

Their castle house has beautifully crafted living and working areas, kitchen and all the ammenities and storage spaces needed for comfortable living.

When parked, the house transforms into a fun structure that allows the family to experience the outdoors.

A sleeping loft raises from above the truck and creates a space for relaxing.

The turrets function as bathrooms-the left one is the composting toilet, while the one on the right houses a shower and a small washing machine.

Solar panels on the roof are used to heat water while tanks below the truck serve as rainwater storage.
