The four-story Grade II-listed warehouse buildings were initially planned for a straightforward refurbishment, but the work evolved into a more complex project that combines historical details and structural solutions with modern elements. Arched sash windows and stone dressings on the facades were preserved and inspired the renovation of the interior.

The bright internal walls, stripped back to the original brickwork, were combined with limed oak flooring, walnut joinery and bronze ironmongery. New mezzanine floors occupy the roof spaces of both buildings and feature original exposed roof trusses which visually dominate the interiors. Skylights inserted into the slanted roofs bathe the interiors with natural light. The team also renovated the existing stairs by adding new wooden treads.
