If the delMare table looks familiar, you may be thinking of Christopher Duffy’s gorgeous Abyss Table or even Alexandre Chapelin’s Lagoon series. While Locota’s ocean-inspired work isn’t an original idea, it’s still no less impressive. As if to emphasize its unconventional appearance, the mesmerizing handmade table stands on three legs, rather than four, with a very low center of gravity. “You won’t easily understand it’s shape and form, but you will be drawn to look at it for hours, as you would gaze into the depth of the ocean floor,” says Locota.

The table was designed digitally with a 3D modeling program before Locota set to work sculpting and sanding the white marble base. Blue-green acrylic glass—valued for its higher impact strength and lightweight qualities—is layered atop the base and changes colors when viewed under different light sources. Each table takes two to three weeks to complete. Locota has created 35 limited edition pieces of three varying sizes. Prices start at € 4,900.
