Thick concrete walls and landscaping protect the home from traffic noise, while beautifully crafted solid teak screens from Bali add a stunning visual contrast and filter harsh light. Designed like a work of art, the juxtaposition of materials and angular lines make the facade “an intriguing visual delight” that can be enjoyed by drivers, passengers, and passersby from the nearby bus stop.

Natural light pours through full-height windows into a grand double-height living room that overlooks the outdoor deck, garden, and swimming pool that helps provide passive cooling to the interior. A mezzanine study and library flank the double-height space. The master bedroom is tucked away in the attic and steps out to a terrace with views of the city skyline.
