See New One World Trade Center Renderings Released by the Port Authority This Week

  • New Renderings of One World Trade Center Released by Port Authority
    Yesterday, the <a href="http://www.panynj.gov/">Port Authority</a> and <a href="http://www.durst.org/">The Durst Organization</a> released a set of brand new renderings of <a href="http://inhabitat.com/nyc/6-important-facts-you-may-not-know-about-one-world-trade-center/">One World Trade Center</a>, and looking at them, we have to say that <a href="http://inhabitat.com/nyc/one-world-trade-center-is-now-the-tallest-building-in-nyc/">NYC's tallest building</a> is looking better than ever. As you can see, the new drawings don't look too different from the old ones, but they do depict one controversial change to the tower - the removal of the cladding from around the antenna - which was announced a few months ago. Click through our photo gallery of the beautiful new images, which also offer a peek at what the 1 WTC lobby and plaza will look like.

  • New Renderings of One World Trade Center Released by Port Authority
    Upon its completion in early 2014, <a href="http://inhabitat.com/nyc/one-world-trade-center-is-now-the-tallest-building-in-nyc/">One World Trade Center</a> will be one of the most sustainable office buildings in NYC and the developers are also endeavoring for it to achieve LEED Gold certification.

    The building, which was designed by <a href="http://www.som.com/">Skidmore, Owings and Merill</a> uses recycled content building materials including sustainably-harvested wood and the construction debris from the site will also be recycled.

    1 WTC will also have a fuel cell that will generate 4.8 million watts (MW), a rainwater collection system and recycling scheme for its cooling systems and will be heated largely by steam.

    The new renderings of <a href="http://www.panynj.gov/wtcprogress/index.html">1 WTC</a> show it glinting from several vantage points including from Brooklyn and Staten Island.

    Several companies have already signed up as tenants, including <a href="http://www.condenast.com/">Condé Nast</a>, which has leased nearly 1.2 million square feet on 25 floors

    The percentage of the space currently leased is now 55 percent.
