Arup has just unveiled plans for a new stadium for Italy’s rockstars of soccer, A.C. Milan. The venue would integrate a modern stadiumwith an expansive array of facilities, including a hotel, sports college, restaurants, children’s playground and public open space. In addition, Arup intends to incorporate a number of “sustainability improvements” in the new facility.
In a press release Arup explains that the stadium will provide “a unique experience to the spectators, with particular attention towards families, with cutting edge technologies and facilities.” Spectators can expect to have massively improved sight lines of the action regardless of where they are in the stadium, thanks to the use of Arup’s parametric tools.

The stadium will be fitted with a moveable roof so as to mitigate the noise of loud games for those in surrounding areas. Meanwhile high-tech solutions will be deployed to “enhance the spectators’ experience before, during and after the matches and special VIP facilities with lounges and spaces with a direct view on the mixed-zone and on the route from the athletes’ changing rooms to the pitch.”
