We recently brought you a stylish set of furniture inspired by egg cartons — now comes the complementary lighting, courtesy of designer Victor Vetterlein! Vetterlein’s ‘Trash Me’ lamps reflect upon the wasteful nature of our society by taking trash and returning it to a useful life. Each lamp is constructed from four paper egg cartons that have been blended with water, poured into a mold and smoothed by had to form a section. After each section has been dried they are secured in place with aluminum screw posts, fashioned with recyclable electrical components and filled with birdseed to bring the lamp in balance. At the end of its useful life the Trash Me lamp can be tossed into the recycling bin or disassembled to form the next best recyclable thing!
