goCstudio has taken the Scandinavian tradition of recharging in a sauna to an amazing new level in Seattle. The wa_sauna is a floating building on Lake Union that offers a heated respite followed by an invigorating plunge into cool waters.
The floating wa_sauna, which features a wood burning stove to keep it warm, can accommodate up to six people for a steamy ride. The original concept was intent on featuring the primal elements of fire, water, and community at its core. As opposed to party boats, the floating sauna offers guests a chance to relish in the silence and serenity of the outdoors.

The wa_sauna is propelled by an electric motor, and a ride around the perimeter of the lake takes an estimated 2-3 hours. Funded partially through a crowdfunding campaign, the vessel was born of and continues to grow into a strong sense of community and togetherness. The studio will be planning events throughout the spring and summer, so if you want a chance to float on a gentle lake with a crackling fire with the sounds of nature nearby – consider planning your trip soon.
