Eating healthfully, locally and sustainably is a goal that many Brooklynites aspire to, but many of us are restricted by our wallets and busy lives. The beauty of Good Eggs is that for the most part, the prices are on par with, or in many cases cheaper than, local farmers markets. There is a delivery fee of $3.99, but you can waive the fee if you pick up your order at designated spots in your area. To order, simply browse the Good Eggs website for fresh, seasonal foods, add what you want to your basket and pay. The site will tell you when your food will be ready for delivery or pickup, depending on which option you prefer.
Good Eggs is convenient for the customer but it also supports local farmers and food purveyors by introducing their products to a larger audience. “Small-batch producers and family farms like mine are selling out at farmers markets and CSAs around the country, but we haven’t been able to compete with the ubiquity and convenience of the supermarket– until now,” explains Josh Morgenthau, who heads up the Good Eggs New York team. “Good Eggs gets local food from farm to table in a way that’s smarter and quicker, allowing local businesses doing the right thing to grow and succeed.”
