Loch Ness Glamping is run by Sonia and Graham who also run the adjacent Great Glen B&B in a converted farmhouse. The camping style accommodations are offered up at hostel prices, but provide a bit more luxury and comfort than your typical tent. Starting at £55.00 per night for 2 people, you can stay in one of the many “Armadillas.” The larch-clad wooden shelters look like an upside down wooden boat each with seating that converts into a bed, an en-suite with fridge, tea-making facilities and LCD TV with DVD, and a bathroom. A small porch area expands living space outdoors and underfloor heating provides warmth on chillier nights. A giant round window on the far side provides light and views.

The family- and pet-friendly accommodations serve as a great base camp for a variety of outdoor activities and adventures. Enjoy the park-like setting and the Great Glen nearby or expand your activities to hiking, biking, monster watching, castle touring, skiing and snowboarding, rafting, caving, photography or even stargazing. The B&B offers breakfast from its country kitchen including organic local eggs, bacon, vine tomatoes, mushrooms and haggis. There is also barbecue and kitchen facilities if you want to cook your own meals. Loch Ness Glamping just opened last summer in July 2012.
