Taiwanese studio Design Thinking has had to rethink a family’s living space to accommodate their cat’s needs. But instead of just focusing on the beloved feline, the studio found a way to satisfy its humans’ needs as well. The design consists of a wall-mounted furniture set, which includes a desk, a set of shelves and a vertical tree trunk – for the cat to sharp its nails on.
Made from a combination of pine and oak wood, the structure was painted white to contrast with the milk chocolate wall on which the pieces were mounted. The concept of sharing underlies the entire design, which provides empty spaces for the cat to roam through while providing a useful function for its owners. Because if the cat’s not happy, no one is.
