New Yorkers looking for a place to charge their phones on-the-go will be able to choose from eight new free AT&T Street Charge locations starting today. The telecom giant will be launching the new solar-powered charging stations at 9:30am this morning as part of the ongoing Street Charge pilot program they debuted in June with Goal Zero and Pensa Design. AT&T’s Neil Giacobbi, New York City Council Member Domenic M. Recchia, and Kevin Jeffrey, Borough Commissioner, Parks, will be on hand this morning at Coney Island’s West 8th Street Boardwalk to unveil one of eight new solar-powered Street Charge phone and tablet-charging locations. Here’s where you’ll be able to find the other new units:

· Manhattan Beach
· Rockaway Beach
· Orchard Beach
· Pier 5 at Brooklyn Bridge Park
· Hudson River Park
· Rumsey Playfield in Central Park
