• Brooklyn Bridge Park Mantaray
A few weeks ago we finally got to see renderings of the exciting plans that are in store for Brooklyn Bridge Park's Pier 6, and the architects just released images of the project's centerpiece - a soaring overlook that's been dubbed the "Mantaray." Designed by Bjarke Ingels Group and Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, the proposed triangular form is a dramatic platform that will provide visitors with a sweeping view of downtown Manhattan.

Underneath, the designers also plan to use the 3,000 square-foot area as a covered seating area for skyline-gazing events and outdoor movie screenings.

The Mantaray will be situated at the very tip of the Brooklyn Bridge Park

The soaring platform is such a notable piece of the project that it needs its own $5 million to $7 million budget, which is still looking for funding.
