Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) recently released a new set of renderings for its High Line-adjacent condo project at 76 Eleventh Avenue, which is now being called simply The Eleventh. Nearly a year after the first images emerged, the $1.9 billion project has announced the pair of towers will also be home to the 137-room luxury Six Senses hotel and spa, backed by HFZ Capital Group. The announcement marks an unusual twist in the project history, since the initial plans called for a hotel but were later changed to repurpose that space into office suites.

BIG has been basically torturing the design world with this project, first releasing renderings last November and then a batch of updated, refined views in January after the decision was made to nix the original hotel plan.

Now that Six Senses is on board, the updated design for the 28- and 38-story buildings, along with connecting podium bridges, have been released.

After two major turns in the road, it’s anyone’s guess whether this new batch of renderings will represent the towers’ final design but chances are, it will be close. The pair of towers will encompass a total of 950,000 square feet and add a curvy twist to the Manhattan skyline.

Retail space will consume 90,000 square feet, while the rest will be occupied by the hotel and 240 condominium units.

The Six Senses Hotel will be located on floors three through 10 of the East Tower, with a spa and restaurant situated beneath the High Line. The hotel develop also has dibs on the top three floors and rooftop of a five-story commercial building at West 17th Street and 11th Avenue for hotel amenities.

The projected completion date for The Eleventh is sometime in 2018.
