Massive NYPD training center will be NYC’s largest LEED project ever commissioned

    It looks like NYC's boys in blue are going green. New York's finest are not only about to get one of the most advanced police training facilities in the world, but one of the most sustainable as well. Located in College Point, Queens, the new <a href="http://perkinswill.com/" target="_blank">Perkins+Will</a>-designed NYPD academy complex will be equipped with state-of-the-art training facilities that will be used to train the city's growing police force. The massive 35-acre site will be the largest <a href="http://inhabitat.com/tag/leed/" target="_blank">LEED-certified project</a> ever commissioned in the city, and is currently aiming for LEED Gold certification.

    However, as far as training, the site will offer an impressive state-of-the-art training campus that will include onsite firearms and tactics and driver training facilities.
