World Trade Center’s elevated Liberty Park set to open this summer

    NYC park lovers will rejoice at the news that the city's much-anticipated <a href="http://inhabitat.com/tag/liberty-street-park/">Liberty Park</a> is slated to open this summer. The <a href="http://inhabitat.com/tag/elevated-park/">elevated park</a> is currently under construction but, according to <a href="http://www.6sqft.com/the-world-trade-centers-one-acre-elevated-liberty-park-opens-this-summer/">6sqft,</a> is set to be completed over the next few months. Once open, the acre-long, greenery-infused public space will rise 25 feet above-ground, providing beautiful views of the 9/11 Memorial below.

    According to DNAinfo, the park's landscape architecture includes a lot of trees and some thoughtful green touches, including the planting of a sapling descended from Anne Frank’s white Horse Chestnut Tree.

    There will also be a 25-foot-high, 300-foot living wall, running along the base of the park and visible from street level.
