In addition to “Dazzling Blue,” the Spring 2014 report also included a mix of earthy neutrals and pastel colors that, according to Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, represent a “state of thoughtful, emotional, and artistic equilibrium.”

Pantone Color Institute’s color predictions are so influential that their choices make waves far beyond the runway, factoring into other areas from manufacturing to paint production. This December, Pantone is expected to release their pick for the 2014 color of the year; the 2013 title went to “Emerald” green.
