
We were at Taste Festival for Berlin’s duo Culinary Misfits, which through non-profit arrangements with farmers makes delicious vegetables that can’t be sold because their unusual shapes.

Biodegradable paper pulp is proving to be ideal for temporary uses and has a great organic texture. We loved the contrast between Debbie Wijskamp’s recycled newspaper wares and Lenneke Wispelwey’s porcelain ones!

Dutch Maarten Baptist’s Slow Cooker and Steam Pilaster set is made from glass and renewable cork.

Royal College of Art graduate,Marre Moerel presented Food on the Table, a cruelty-free and brutal ceramic collection of tableware made from casted animal organs, such as cow hearts, pig intestines, sheep brains, and bull testicles.

Art historian Adriana Hartleycreated a collection of ceramic tableware around the idea of recycling old pieces in an aesthetically pleasing way.

Terrariums can blow our minds, especially when they are suspended from a helium balloon, like this one from Lauren Coleman.

Folding, biodegradable and inspired by origami, Marco Bazzola’s paper-based Easy Eating are great for transportation of food for al-fresco eating.

Graphic design and animism was also present at Taste. Michela Grisiand Nicholas Bertini created Vegetablove, a project consisting of a series of illustrations that give voice and free expression of feelings to fruits and vegetables.

Christoph Toenges and Elena Goray exhibited “Pile Isle,” their beautiful bamboo bench, which was made using no glue or screws.

German Valentin Loellmann recycles old wooden furniture legs and create lean pieces of furniture enclosed in a thick polyester skin.

Japanese performance artist Ayako Suwa amazed attendees at the Direktorenhaus’ loft with erotic micro-food designs that aimed to evoke feelings through eating an exotic mix of tastes in small size.
