This year’s challenge for the Electrolux Design Lab competition asked students and recent graduates to create a product that would incorporate a full sensory experience for the user. Rising to first place was Jan Ankiersztjan’s Aeroball, an air-purifying device that absorbs light during the day to illuminate itself at night. “This year’s winning concept Aeroball is a truly innovative concept that uses space in a unique way and delights our surroundings. It also changes our perception of an air cleaner, because it is delicate in aesthetics, it is emotional and also relevant, because it addresses the consumer’s needs.” said Thomas Johansson, Design Director at Electrolux and head of the judging panel.

As a part of his prize, Jan will receive a six-month internship with Electrolux Design Center, as well as a cash stipend.
