Jumping onto the trend of non-traditional rooftop houses in NYC, a mysterious silver Airstream has been spotted on top of a warehouse in Red Hook. The owner of the minimalist abode, which has been sitting on top of the warehouse roof since 2012, has yet to be confirmed, but has already incurred the wrath of the city in the form of one very steep fine.
According to Brooklyn Paper, the owner of the Airstream – who apparently used a crane to stake his claim to the rooftop – has not been named. However, according to an observant, chatty neighbor who spoke with the publication, the owner of the tiny home is “a roofer turned recreational vehicle enthusiast who goes by Ronnie and sells curiosities from the warehouse on weekends.”
