A most impressive Darth Vader statue has Star Wars fans flocking to the sweet side. Oslo baker and 3D artist Caroline Eriksson took three weeks to create a gingerbread replica of Darth Vader that stands almost four feet tall. The sweet and crunchy version of the dark lord currently stands in the Ringen Cinema in Oslo, Norway.
“Three weeks and three fire alarms later I am excited to show you my gingerbread Star Wars creation,” Eriksson announced on her Facebook page. To create this magnificent replica of the Star Wars villain, Eriksson started by building a metal skeleton for Vader. Next, she made hand-drawn plans, detailing the shapes of the many pieces of gingerbread she would need. And then she got baking.

“I have to make the dough myself to make it stronger using more syrup and flour,” Eriksson told the Huffington Post. And of course, the force must be strong in the sugary ‘glue’ that she used to paste Vader together. “I use melted sugar as ‘glue’, which is effective, but I always manage to end up with a burn injury.”
This isn’t the first time Eriksson has turned her talented hand to gingerbread.
She is also the creator behind a fabulously detailed gingerbread Smaug and an imposing Optimus Prime.
As Vader himself would say, “Impressive. Most impressive.”
