Big Appetites´ series uses common foods to create
surreal edible landscapes that portray scenes of everyday life. The deliciously funny photos comment upon our relationship with food while capturing a childlike sense of wonder - and they show the fun that can be had by playing with food.
Christopher Boffoli´s photographs celebrate the inner beauty of food in every detail, color and texture. You can almost taste the happy, sweet memories of the past, when most of us weren´t allowed to play with our food. An apple cake becomes a building site, cornets are turned into Tipi Tents, and white and dark chocolate becomes the perfect site for hard-rock excavation.
Based in Seattle, Boffoli uses macro lenses and soft lighting techniques to capture his amazing images. Big Appetites celebrates the tremendous variety of food available today, and the series is sure to instill a renewed sense of wonder for the bounty of the standard kitchen pantry.
