Farmland World is a Colorful Eco Amusement Park That Teaches Us About Our Food

In a country where we rely heavily on automated food production and have grown disconnected from the source, maybe it's time we get reacquainted. Farmland Word is part <a href="http://inhabitat.com/dismantled-german-nuclear-plant-transformed-into-incredible-wunderland-kalkar-amusement-park/">amusement park</a> and part working farm designed to reunite disenfranchised Americans with the heartland. The chain of <a href="http://inhabitat.com/category/eco-tourism">eco-resorts</a>, designed by Chicago-based <a href="http://www.designwith.co/" target="_blank">Design With Company</a>, can be accessed via high speed train and visitors can enjoy a variety of fantasy farm experience packages and dig into farm chores to distract themselves from their daily desk lives. Take rides on animal farmatures (which are half ride, half farm armature) and slip on your complimentary pair of overalls to get the party started!

Visitors to Farmland World would arrive via high speed train and upon arrival would get their very own pair of overalls in which to work.

From there you could visit any number of areas like Fruit Mountain, Chicken Hut, Dairytown, Beeville, Veggie Row, Pig City, Goat Town and Wheat Island where you could get first hand experience.

Spend 1, 3 of 5 days learning the ropes, getting your hands dirty and feeling good about yourself and how your helped transform the landscape.

Your <a href="http://inhabitat.com/the-farm-project-by-mike-meire-for-dornbracht/">farm experience</a> will leave you weary and enlightened.

Along the way experience the <a href="http://www.designwith.co/#1584434/Animal-Farmatures" target="_blank">Animal Farmatures</a>, which are human/machine/animal hybrids that transform the landscape.

These farm implements cultivate farmland and entertain <a href="http://inhabitat.com/tag/high-speed-rail">high-speed rail</a> customers as they travel across the heartland.

Farmatures like the Horse, Goat, Pig, Chicken, Cow and more that harvest the crops and leave behind manure to fertilize the ground.

Completely tongue in cheek, Farmland World was an entry into the <a href="http://www.animalarchitecture.org/animal-architecture-awards-announced/">Animal Architecture design competition</a>.

Allison Newmeyer and Stewart Hick of Design With Company created the chain of farm-centric eco resorts as a way of commenting on the state of <a href="http://inhabitat.com/smarter-cities-vertical-farming-could-ease-worlds-agricultural-woes/">agriculture</a> in America.

We rely heavily on automated processes and machines for our food resulting in less contact with the earth and with the animals.

Newmeyer and Hick propose Farmland World as a way to renew enthusiasm for farming by making it an attraction with rides and farming experiences. The duo were awarded with runner-up in the competition.
