Gallery: Flowering String Gardens Suspend Fruits and Greenery in Delica...

 

Suspended from the ceiling by just a few threads and completely unencumbered by pots or containers, these string-bound flora are probably the coolest hanging gardens we’ve seen since Babylon. The work of Fedor van der Valk, the spherical balls of dirt are enveloped in a cocoon of web-like string, and sprout everything from fruit trees to succulents. The resulting gardens are works of art which seem to defy gravity and completely eliminate the need for pots.

    Such a watering nightmare and truly, IMHO, anti-green! Yes, they are beautiful, but watering every day, just to keep them alive! Yikes!

    THE HANGING GARDENS ARE INTERESTING. HOWEVER FOR TWO
    DAYS I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO FIND WHERE AND WHAT KIND
    OF STRING TO GET FOR MY “SNAKE” POLE GREEN BEANS…
    I ALWAYS THJOUGHT U USED A STRING TO RUN THE PLANT
    UP, BUT SEEMS NOBODY DOES…ITS FENCE WIRE, AND.OR
    CANE POLES ETC… I’M TIRED OF LOOKING, BUT I’VE
    LEARNED A LOT….90 YR OLD TRYING FOR ONE MORE GARDEN….
