John_Ford_Lamp-4When California furniture designer <a href="http://www.john-ford.com/Index.html">John Ford</a> is finished making one of his striking <a href="http://haute-living.com/search/ford/page-1-1/1618-sk-table">SK Tables</a> or sleek <a href="http://haute-living.com/search/ford/page-1-2/1617-wb-chair">WB Chairs</a>, he is often left with scraps of high-quality <a href="http://us.fsc.org/">FSC-certified</a> lumber. Instead of discarding this extra material, he has come up with a simple yet ingenious design for an elegant, modern table lamp. Ford is accustomed to making small quantity, high-end pieces out of his L.A. workshop, but the Mill Lamp will be one of his first small object designs to date. The lamp is a departure from the high-end custom furniture Ford is accustomed to making, and it's a product that could have broad appeal.1
