When California furniture designer John Ford is finished making one of his striking SK Tables or sleek WB Chairs, he is often left with scraps of high-quality FSC-certified lumber. Instead of discarding this extra material, he has come up with a simple yet ingenious design for an elegant, modern table lamp. Ford is accustomed to making small quantity, high-end pieces out of his L.A. workshop, but the Mill Lamp will be one of his first small object designs to date. The lamp is a departure from the high-end custom furniture Ford is accustomed to making, and it's a product that could have broad appeal.
