Gallery: Giant “Eggo” Home Made Out Of Hundreds Of Recycled Egg Cartons

The egg cartons are used like Lego blocks to build the home.

Goldenhen is known for its quirky reuse of everyday materials in unexpected ways. The Original Dream is part of a series of ‘Eggo’ installations that utilize recycled egg cartons. The cartons are colored and then stacked together to build the home, similar to building with Lego bricks. Underneath all the cartons is a simple wood frame structure that provides a foundation for the cartons.

Goldenhen also built out a red brick yard fence, a cricket pitch, an outdoor clothes drying rack, and lots of grass made out of egg trays. The home was based on Howard Arkley’s painting of an Australian suburban home.
