From afar it might look like a wild swamp, but this minimal playground in Berlin is a lovely escape enjoyed by both kids and adults alike. Constructed simply from wooden poles, stainless steel, and ropes, <a title="Elegant Playground at Gleisdreieck Park is A Minimal Tree Trunks Oasis in Berlin" href="http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Park_am_Gleisdreieck" target="_blank">Gleisdreieck Park</a>'s playground by <a title="Elegant Playground at Gleisdreieck Park is A Minimal Tree Trunks Oasis in Berlin" href="http://www.atelier-loidl.de/" target="_blank">Atelier-loidl</a> is a spectacular example of how a minimalistic approach can give way to beautiful landscape architecture. Located right behind the Technik Museum near Potsdamer Platz, the spacious green oasis sits upon what was once an urban wasteland located between railway tracks.

A favorite spot for runners, skaters, and cyclers, the park will boast even more space for play when its west-side opens in 2013.

Thick and strong natural ropes connect the trees, and they playfully take on a spider-web-like design that visitors can climb.

The playground's surrounding area still maintains many of the site's original trees, including maples, oaks, nettles, birches and black locusts.
