There’s nothing that we love more than a well-designed bike, so we get excited when designers take a long hard look at one and give us a vision of things to come. David Gonçalves’ Grasshopper is a folding electric bicycle that not only serves as a means of transportation, but can also become a stationary exercise bike and can even generate and store kinetic energy.
David Gonçalves recently wowed us with his Scarab Concept Vehicle, so we were excited to see that he had another great green concept design up his sleeve. The Grasshopper’s compact foldable frame makes it a great option for inner-city residents, since it would easily fit in an apartment or a crowded subway car. A rechargeable battery stores energy generated by pedaling and regenerative braking, making it a versatile and sustainable transportation solution.
