Gallery: Humanscale’s Horizon LED Task Light Packs High Design Into a S...

Inhabitat reporters descended upon the International Contemporary Furniture Fair at the Jacob Javits Center in New York last week, ready and excited to take in the freshest eco-conscious furniture design. We expected the presence of innovative lighting designers at the event, but we were surprised to see such a diverse array of energy efficient fixtures and bulbs of all shapes and sizes. Some of these designs venture into complex geometric forms and versatility of use, but Humanscale relies on emergent nanotechnology and tasteful, simple aesthetics to create the elegant low profile of their Horizon LED Task Light. Designers Peter Stathis and Michael McCoy have produced a highly sustainable, fully dimmable, energy-efficient fixture that delivers innovative lighting design in a desirable, graceful package that turned heads at the fair.
