Gallery: HyperSolar Increases Solar Efficiency By 300% With Magnifying ...

One of the reasons that the solar power industry has yet to dominate the energy market is due to its relatively low efficiency. However, that could soon change with HyperSolar’s magnifying film, which can increase the efficiency of solar panels by up to 300%.

Hm, this sound mighty similar to ANU’s latest creation
    What do ya’ll think?

Solar cells can only absorb a portion of the light spectrum…All the unused light in the spectrum creates the overheating in solar panels…

The beauty of HyperSolar’s technology is that their film uses photonics and filters out the unused parts of the light spectrum to avoid overheating.

No need for adding in coolant systems because the photonic layer from HyperSolar does the cooling already through filtering through only the used spectrum of light for absorption…

solar concentrators have been around as long as solar panels have been around. the advantage is that the concentrators are relitively cheap compared with the solar cells themselves. the problem is the heat. concentrators burn out delicate solar cells. it’s like starting a fire with a magnifying glass.
whenever you hear about some new concentrator company you always have to look for inovation in cooling technology. that’s where the game is.
there’s another company (can’t remember the name) that is using concentrators with combined solar power with solar thermal. it uses solar concentrators with solar cells and uses integrated coolant piping to cool the cells. The heated liquid is used to provide hot water and heat.
