Studio East DiningBorrowed you say? Who borrows materials to build a restaurant? Apparently London designer Carmody Groarke did when he borrowed materials from one of the London Olympic construction sites to build a pop up restaurant atop a parking garage this last summer. Lasting only three weeks, Studio East Dining served up modern British cuisine with views of Zaha Hadid's aquatic center, currently under construction. Built from borrowed scaffolding, wooden planks, construction lamps and translucent polyethylene, once the restaurant's time was up, the entire restaurant was deconstructed and materials were returned or recycled.1
