LEED Silver MiMA Tower in Midtown is Green Luxury at Its Finest

    Midtown welcomes a brand new high-rise building with never before seen luxury amenities and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leadership_in_Energy_and_Environmental_Design" target="_blank">LEED Silver certification</a>. The giant glass <a href="http://www.related.com/destinations/mima/residences-condo.aspx" target="_blank">MiMA</a> building (short for Middle of Manhattan) is 63 stories of rentals, condos, and retail stores, plus <a href="http://inhabitat.com/nyc/new-yorks-first-yotel-by-softroom-and-rockwell-group-wraps-comfort-and-luxury-in-a-tiny-capsule/">a hotel</a> and off-broadway theatre. From doorman to roofdeck, this building has every thinkable amenity and the latest in green technology.

    MiMA is comprised of 500 rentals, 151 condos, the super modern Japanese <a href="http://inhabitat.com/nyc/new-yorks-first-yotel-by-softroom-and-rockwell-group-wraps-comfort-and-luxury-in-a-tiny-capsule/" target="_blank">Yotel</a>, and an off-broadway theatre designed by none other than <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Gehry" target="_blank">Frank Ghery</a>.

    The brainchild of a dream team of designers, the glass and steel tower itself was thought up by Miami-based firm <a href="http://arquitectonica.com/" target="_blank">Arquitectonica</a>.

    The apartments, which start at $2,895 for a studio, were expertly crafted for optimum efficiency and storage by local designer <a href="http://www.ilarch.com/" target="_blank">Ismael Leyva</a>. Each unit is fitted with<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Light-emitting_diode" target="_blank"> LED lights</a>, low impact materials and floor to ceiling windows boasting panoramic views of Manhattan.

    A number of common floors are outfitted with unique and spacious indoor and outdoor lounges designed by New York's <a href="http://www.rockwellgroup.com/" target="_blank">Rockwell Group</a>, complete with modular, lightweight furniture that can be easily rearranged for any group or occasion.

    The 44,000 square foot M Club health center has just about everything, including an indoor lap pool.

    Residents have access to a state-of-the-art fitness center and gym designed by Equinox.

    MiMA offers personal assistants, a 24-hour concierge, on-site valet, 200+ cable channels, a movie screening room, and a catering kitchen to name a few. It is also one of the first residential high-rises with a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Distributed_Antenna_System" target="_blank">distribution antenna system</a> that actually enhances cell phone service within the building walls!
