This simple Dojo provides space for mediation and exercise outside of Santiago on a plot of land in Colina, Chile. Designed by UMWELT + Lucía Cavecedo García, the Dojo is a part of a three-pronged intervention on the client's land to make it more relaxing and enjoyable. Using passive design strategies, the Dojo features a large overhanging roof, louvered sides and is naturally daylit as a way of keeping the interior cool. Two other shade devices on the property also help reduce exposure and heat gain so the family can spend more time outdoors.

Hi my name is John Porter, I have an outdoor space about 14 feet by 18 feet in which i wish to build a dojo for Aikido practice. I was wanting to build a traditional style Japanese dojo or as close as I can. My question is if you have plans which I can follow to build it, of course making adjustments as needed to fit the space. Please contact me at 702-456-8268 home or 702-815-5835 cell, also 409 cavalla st. Henderson NV 89074 for paper response. thank you
